Iconic monument - "City of the First"
About the project
The project of the monument "City of the Firsts" was developed by TSP STUDIO for Megion — a city whose history and development are inextricably linked with the development of oil fields in Western Siberia. The monument is dedicated to the city and the people who stood at the origins of oil production: geologists, oil workers, pioneers and everyone whose work created and developed the Megion.
The architectural image of the monument is built on expressive modern plastics and laconic geometry. The vertical composition forms a noticeable urban dominant, and the combination of large volumes and graphic elements gives the object a dynamic and emphasizes its memorial character. The monument is perceived not only as a memorial sign, but also as a symbol of energy, forward movement and industrial history of the city.
It is especially important for us that the monument was implemented exactly according to the developed visualization — from the general composition and proportions to the architectural image. Photos of the finished object clearly show the compliance of the original concept and the implemented solution.
Today, the monument has already become an iconic object reflecting the oil history and character of Megion — the "City of the Firsts". The next stage of the project will be the implementation of a landscaped area around the monument, which will form a completed public space, emphasize the importance of the monument and make the territory comfortable for residents and guests of the city.
